The Utah Jazz are an American professional basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The franchise began as an expansion team in the 1974–75 season as the New Orleans Jazz, a tribute to New Orleans' history of originating jazz music. The Jazz relocated from New Orleans to Salt Lake City on June 8, 1979.
This project is a culmination of my passion for both sports and music. Often times my biggest inspirations for projects come from the wide variety of music I listen to, one of my favorites being jazz. I thought it might be a fun idea to redesign the Utah Jazz with the influence of it's namesake from the 1950's through the 70's. With the theming, I also included graphic design elements from the same period as well, tying together this blast from the past.
